In the northeast corner of the island Fynen you will find Bjørnegaarden wich is placed just north of Kerteminde, or more precisely north in Viby parish and east of the village Hersnap.
Bjørnegaarden has been a contract farm that has been leased to the Bjørn family for generations. Since 1780 lease privilege has passed from father to son.
In all theese years the farm has belonged to the Hverringe manor house .
The last Bjørn was Jens Bjørn. He leaved Bjørnegaarden December 31, 1999.

THE MAUSING BJØRNs
This part of the family are decedents of Peder Jensen Bjørn born on the Bjørnegaard in 1829. He moved in 1859 to Mausing north of Silkeborg in Jytland. Here he and his wife Johanne had 6 children.
FOR FAMILY MEMBERS
July, 1996, the family had a great reunion with 123 Bjørns in North Lichfield, South Carolina.
