There are between 90 and 100 family
members attending and good therefore get group rates for some of the
activities. Two of the events require reservations
by the end of June…
Goldmine tour & dinner (Wednesday evening) – we leave the resort around 3:30 for a 1
hour ride to Breckenridge. Once there
we will have a 1 hour tour of the mine and have time to pan for gold in the
creek. We will also have dinner under a
miner’s tent with spectacular views (Menu is ribs, chicken, miner beans,
cornbread, lemonade and dessert). A
hayride and campfire complete with marshmallows will finish our adventure. The evening will conclude about 8:30pm. Prices are as follows: $55 for ages 13 to adult, $45 for ages 4-12
and children 3 and under are free. If
you are interested in this event, call Country Boy Mine at 970-453-4405 and ask
for Betsy (if she is not available, leave a voice message and she will call you
back). Tell her you are making a
reservation under the Bjorn Family Reunion.
Whitewater Rafting (Thursday morning) – we will be picked up at the resort at
10:00am and returned around 3:00. This
raft trip is the beginner level and is suitable for the young and “the
old”. The only restriction is you must
weigh at least 22#. The rafts will
carry us down part of the Upper Colorado River. There will be places to jump in and swim along the way. We will be served lunch along the
riverbank. I have been promised a
‘splashing good time’. Prices
(including tax but not tips) are as follows:
$64.57 for ages 13 to adult, $55.48 for ages 6-12 and $27.29 for
children 5 and under. If you are
interested in this event, call Lakota Rafting at 800-274-0636 and ask for
Darrell. Tell him you are making a
reservation under the Bjorn Family Reunion.
Keep in mind all these activities have a 24 hour cancellation for
a refund of all or part of the deposit paid.
FYI - The Family Banquet will cost $30 per person and will be
collected from everyone by Eivind Lillehoj in Vail.
FYI – The Eagles Nest Gondola is free on Saturday evenings, so the
only expense that night will be whatever you purchase to eat (dinners are very
expensive on top of the mountain, eating a meal elsewhere is suggested).
More details on these and the other
activities will be handed out when you check-in and discussed at the Family
Banquet.
If anyone has any questions, please feel
free to email me or call me at 704-366-0453.
For the Danes…three items…
1 - this email went to Michael Bjorn, the
Sorensen Family, HansOle Frostholm, Merette Frostholm and Hanne Bjorn. If I have missed anyone who is coming,
please forward this email to them AND email their address to me so I can update
them directly with any future information.
2 - if it is difficult for you to make
reservations for the above activities for any reason, please email which
event(s) you are interested in and how many of you will be attending. I will make the reservation and you can pay
me the week we are together in Vail.
3 – I am making name tags for
everyone. Please email me the correct
spelling of your names and the city/town you live in.
I look forward to seeing all of you
there! Sherri (Thordahl) Twente
